The above Party was attended by various local officials and real estate professionals, to formally launch The Association - all members of which are from other parts of Europe and further afield, and who now live and work in Tenerife, treating the island as their home, and contributing to its prosperity and social development.
The purpose of the Cocktail Party was to bring attention to the Association and its principal goal: to 'professionalise' the Real Estate Sector, at the same time addressing the less than professional people operating as Estate Agents who have no qualifications, experience or office premises, often causing financial damage to clients and giving the industry a bad name.
To consolidate TENERIFE SOUTH REAL ESTATE ASSOCIATION as a prestigious brand, they need to create a professional school, such as those existing in many other European countries, such as lawyers, architects and engineers etc. Entry to this school would guarantee things such as Standards of Behaviour, which, in the case of any infringement would mean immediate expulsion so the person could not continue to operate here.
As the school doesn't yet exist, the Association is trying to fill the gap, selecting those real estate companies that have operated honourably in Tenerife for many years and who already fulfill the following fundamental requirements:
All applicants must have:
- An exemplary professional record with a minimum of 8 years' experience.
- Accept the Association's Rules.
- An Office.
- Respect the other members and honour any 'Collaboration Agreements.'
- Have no upheld Complaint against them (fraud or otherwise).
- Professional Indemnity Insurance cover.
The Association's current Members have 32 offices open to the public and 150 staff members, who deal with as many as 5,000 clients every year, selling between 1,400 and 1,800 annually.
